Property Description

Lebrun Meadow comprises 22 acres and migratory bird habitat.

History

The Lebrun Meadow property was purchased in 2008, with partial funding from the Lebanon Open Space Trust fund, as well as a grant awarded from the State of New Hampshire’s Water Supply Land Grant Program. The property is bounded on the north by the Dartmouth College Highway (NH Route 4), and on the south by the Northern Rail Trail and Mascoma Lake.

Features and Access

The open fields located on the property are on a four-year mowing rotation to maximize the wildlife habitat diversity. The conservation of this property provides valuable water quality protection to Mascoma Lake, which flows into the Mascoma River, including the source of drinking water for the majority of Lebanon residents.

The parking area located between Ice House Road and the Northern Rail Trail is a popular access point for the Rail trail, as well as the preferred location for those visiting the property.
