Labor Day Holiday Closures with City Hall and fall foliage in background

Citywide Labor Day Closures 

In observance of the Labor Day holiday, please be aware that Lebanon City Hall, Lebanon Libraries, Lebanon Landfill & Recycling Center, and all other City administrative offices will be CLOSED on Monday, September 2, 2019. 

Other items of interest: 

  • On September 8, 2019, Lebanon Public Libraries will begin its Sunday schedule with hours from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at both locations. 
  • Lebanon School District information can be found at SAU88.net

City Hall Renovations to Begin

Lebanon City Council recently authorized renovations to City Hall and construction is set to begin on September 3, 2019. During this time, the alley between City Hall and Dutille’s Jewelry/Mascoma Savings Bank will be closed to vehicular traffic.

Hop on the Bus! 

Are you curious about transit? The Hop on the Bus event is a great way to receive hands-on guidance while riding the bus for the first time. This September 5th event will provide a free, round-trip ride from Kilton Public Library to Lebanon Farmers' Market. All riders will receive a $5 token to spend at the market. This activity is free and open to the public but registration is required. Please share this information with your friends, colleagues, and family. Let's take a bus ride!

The Upper Valley Adaptation Workgroup and Vital Communities will host a Climate Change Leadership Academy from October 2019 to April 2020. Apply by September 15th to participate in 6 collaborative work sessions on the topic of climate change.

Upper Valley Electric Vehicle Expo Sep. 14

The 5th annual Upper Valley Electric Vehicle Expo will take place Saturday, September 14, from 11 am to 3 pm (rain or shine) at the Dothan Brook School in White River Junction, Vt. as part of National Drive Electric Week. The Expo is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to pre-register online at UVEVExpo.org for a chance to win $250.

Goats, not Pesticides
Lebanon Recreation and Parks is pleased to announce our effort to rid our parks of Poison Ivy without the use of traditional herbicides. Our pilot project will begin Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Riverside Community ParkCivic Memorial Park, Basin Field, and on the Mascoma River Greenway near the public art sculpture “Wheels”.

Lebanon Farmers’ Market – Thursday, August 29th from 4pm to 7pm on Colburn Park. Enjoy wonderful selections of local fresh produce, plants, prepared foods, baked goods and handmade crafts. September Hiking Adventures: Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site & Picnic Lunch – Friday, September 6th from 10am to 2pm. This adventure takes the group to Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site and includes a picnic lunch. Movie Screen on the GreenWonder Park – Friday, September 6th starting at 7:00pm on Colburn Park; Join us for an outdoor movie showing of Wonder Park! Rating: PG

Farnum Five.5 – Saturday, September 7th starting at 9am. The Farnum Five.5 miler begins with a fast Class VI roadwide trail for the first 1+ miles. The course then turns the heat up. This race is all about having a good time for all. All proceeds go to Lebanon Recreation and Parks. For more information or registration, please visit wnhtrs.com.
