Local Food Pantries Need Our Help

Lebanon Human Services is working with Upper Valley community organizations to help spread the word about the need to stock our local food pantries. Like most in the nation, our local organizations are anticipating a direct impact from the partial federal government shutdown for people who receive SNAP benefits, also known as food stamps.

The US Department of Agriculture asked individual States to issue February benefits earlier than usual, on January 20, to take advantage of federal funding that was available despite the shutdown. Because March benefits will be issued on the usual schedule, there could be a 2-week gap for most food stamp recipients and hunger could be the result.

Please consider donating food or cash to our local pantries so that no Upper Valley resident goes hungry. All donations are appreciated.
If you would prefer to target the most needed items, please check out the recently published flyer by LISTEN Community Services and the Upper Valley Haven.
