New Year's Day Hours

Please be advised that all City administrative offices, Lebanon Libraries, and the Lebanon Solid Waste Facility will be closed on Wednesday, January 1, 2020. Regular hours will resume citywide on Thursday, January 2, 2020. 

Please also be aware that Lebanon Libraries will close early at 5pm on Tuesday, December 31st.

City Hall Offices to Relocate on January 9 and 10

Please be aware that, as part of the City Hall renovation project, ALL City Hall Offices will be relocated to 20 West Park Street in Lebanon (formerly Citizens Bank) during the second week in January.  

To facilitate the move, City Hall offices will be CLOSED ON THURSDAY, JANUARY 9, AND FRIDAY, JANUARY 10, 2020; and will REOPEN ON MONDAY, JANUARY 13 in the new location. Office hours will remain as they are now, Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm. Offices will remain at 20 West Park Street until renovations are complete, which is anticipated to be sometime in October 2020. 

Should a weather event be forecasted to occur on those dates, the relocation will occur on Tuesday, January 7 and Wednesday, January 8, 2020 with city offices reopening on Thursday, January 9.


Following the relocation, all government meetings currently held at City Hall will be held in meetings rooms at 20 West Park Street, unless noticed for a different location. 

Programming at the Lebanon Opera House will continue as normal throughout the renovation. City Hall will be open to the public for all events at LOH, however, the organization’s administrative and box office will be relocated to 20 West Park Street. More information about day-of-ticket purchases and pick-up procedures will be made available by the Opera House in the coming weeks

Informational updates about the relocation will continue to be announced in LebNews and will be posted to LebanonNH.gov. In the meantime, if you have questions, please contact the City Manager’s Office at 603-448-4220.

Don't Waste Your Tree!

Christmas trees are a traditional and wonderful part of this season’s celebration. Learn the dos and don'ts of disposing your tree after the celebrations are over. Hint: Christmas trees do not belong in the dumpster. They can be brought to the Solid Waste Facility located on 12A in West Lebanon where they are chipped up and composted on site. Find out how to prepare them for proper disposal.

Explosion and Fire at Element Hotel

On December 24, 2019, the Lebanon Fire Department received an alarm from municipal box 331 at the Element Hotel in Lebanon. During the investigation, personnel encountered an explosion that injured several firefighters and hotel occupants.

Sign Up for Food Scraps Pilot

The Lebanon Solid Waste Facility has been receiving food waste from Upper Valley institutions for composting for more than a decade. Now they are looking to expand waste diversion options to include a residential drop-off for food scraps. To make this effort a success, they are looking for 50 households willing to participate in a 3 month pilot program. If you live in Lebanon and would like to participate, please complete our Food Scraps Pilot Program form before January 10, 2020.

Man Arrested for Identity Fraud

On July 11th, Lebanon Police began an investigation into fraudulent use of credit cards at businesses on Plainfield Road. A suspect was identified, and on December 20th he was arrested in MA and extradited to NH to be processed on multiple charges. Continue reading...


Recreation & Parks Highlights


Burke Mountain Trip - Monday, Jan 20, 9 am – 4:30 pm, Burke Mountain, drop-off and pick-up at City Hall; Grades 5-8 can join Leb Rec on a trip to ski and board at Burke Mountain. Participants must provide their own equipment or rent at the ski area for an additional fee. Plan to bring money for lunch or pack your own. Register online at LebanonNH.gov/Register. Registration deadline is January 6th.


Storrs Hill Lessons – Ages 4 to Adult at Storrs Hill Ski Area. Storrs Hill Ski Area provides lessons for all ages and abilities in both Skiing and Snowboarding, as well as Racing/Ski Jumping (ages 7-18), Telemark Lessons (12+), Freestyle Team (7+) and Light Backcountry Skiing (18+). Full Moon Fiesta – Saturday, Jan 11, 2020 6 pm – 8 pm, Storrs Hill Ski Lodge; Enjoy light food and hot beverages from local sponsoring restaurants. Proceeds benefit Lebanon Recreation and Parks Assistance Program and the Lebanon Outing Club. This is an eco-friendly event – please help reduce waste by bringing your own mug, spoon, & bowl! For more information and to register go to LebanonNH.gov/Register.

S’more Ice Skating Party – Friday, Jan 24, 6 pm – 8 pm, Pat Walsh Park Rinks. Join the Friends of Lebanon Recreation and Parks to celebrate winter fun with family entertainment at the outdoor ice-skating rinks. Date is weather dependent and subject to change.

Pat Walsh Ice Rinks – The ice rinks are OPEN and available for use from dawn to 10 pm. The lights are on from 4 pm – 10 pm and the warming hut is open 8 am – 10 pm. The hut locks automatically so make sure you have everything you need before 10pm or it will be there for the night. To stay up to date on the rink status visit LebanonNH.gov/icerinks for notification information. A reminder that Pat Walsh Park is and alcohol and substance free park.
