2022 Community Survey Results

On February 21, 2022, the Lebanon Police Department conducted a city-wide survey for residents and frequent visitors of the community. The survey ran for approximately five weeks. The purpose of the survey was to provide an opportunity for the department to gain information about how community members view the quality of police services and better understand and respond to community members’ thoughts and concerns.

The five week-long survey garnered responses from 214 individuals. The survey was posted on our city website and was powered by a digital-based survey technology called “SurveyMonkey.” From the information gathered, we obtained a snapshot of concerns from members of the community and learned how community concerns are prioritized. In addition, overall responsiveness and interaction with police officers was measured to understand community sentiment about the Lebanon Police Department, along with other relevant aspects of public safety. Several key questions were asked to assist the Lebanon Police Department in determining community perceptions of safety and quality of life in Lebanon.

The survey is part of our Strategic Plan and in line with accreditation requirements set forth by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). As part of our Strategic Plan, we can compare results of this survey with prior surveys conducted for areas that have improved or for areas requiring more attention.

We thank those who took the time to complete the survey and invite others to participate when we conduct our next one. We are pleased to share with you the results of our 2022 survey at LebanonNH.gov/LPDSurvey.
