Lebanon Police officers engaged in a conversation via social media with a male who was later identified as Joey Sherwood, age 29, of Rutland Center VT. This investigation led to Sherwood arriving at a location to meet a person that he thought was a juvenile for sexual acts on February 13, 2020.
Sherwood taken into custody and charged with Certain Uses of Computer Services Prohibited, Attempted Felonious Sexual Assault, and Attempted Endangering Welfare of a Child – all Class B Felonies. Sherwood is held on preventative detention at the Grafton County House of Corrections pending arraignment at the Grafton County Superior Court.
