On November 23, 2019 at approximately 4:00AM, Lebanon Police patrol officers responded to Denny’s Restaurant on Plainfield Road for a report of a male subject who had accidentally discharged a firearm in the restaurant and was injured.
When Officers arrived, they met with the male who was identified as Michael Bushey, age 21 of Bethel Vermont. Bushey had suffered minor, non-life-threatening injuries as a result of his firearm discharging and striking his leg. Although there were several patrons near Bushey when his firearm discharged, there were no other injuries. A black .45 caliber pistol was seized at the scene.
Lebanon Police Detectives conducted additional investigation into the incident, including a review of Denny’s surveillance video, which lead to an arrest warrant being issued on December 12, 2019 charging Bushey with Reckless Conduct with a Firearm, a Class B Felony offense.
Bushey was arrested on December 12th and released on Personal Recognizance bail with a court date of December 30, 2019 in the Grafton County Superior Court.
