The Lebanon Solid Waste Facility remains open. Solid Waste Division staff have been briefed on safety protocols as they relate to Covid-19. Protocols and procedures have been instituted for employee and public health and safety.
One change you might notice is the “social distancing” with staff. To protect ourselves and the public, staff will be maintaining a separation. To that end, when coming in to drop off trash, staff will not be opening doors or trunks. You will be asked for your solid waste permit to scan and, “How many bags of trash?”.
Also, Solid Waste staff will not be handling punchcards. We are asking customers to bring a pen when dropping off their waste. Staff will instruct customers to cross off “punches” on their landfill punchcard. Thank you for your cooperation.
Staff at the Scale House have been issued masks. If you see a staff person with a mask, it is being worn for their own protection.
Other things to consider when managing your waste and recycling include:
- Bag ALL trash
- Reduce the frequency of trips to the facility by waiting until you have larger loads
- Consolidate trips to the facility with shopping on 12A
- Consider using a private waste/recycling hauler
- Remember that tissues (Kleenex), paper towels, napkins are NOT recyclable. Please place them in your trash bag for disposal.
